Organically Charged Events

Greetings Stampees and Guests!  Just thought I'll check in and share with you some cool events I've been to in the last couple of weeks.  I had a random thought recently about how often the term organic is used especially in reference to food.  So, I decided I was going to put my own Stamp or meaning to the word for the sake of this blog post.  The S.O.S. definition is as follows, "the state of being fresh and original without taint from metaphorical chemicals (i.e. haters).   It has been known to promote confidence and can often cause admiration from others."  Well with that being said, I've had more than a couple of "organic" experiences recently...
  • First up is the Beautiful, Natural and Free Natural Hair Meet-Up in Bethesda, MD a couple of weeks ago.  The atmosphere was truly (yes, I will say it) "organic".  And this wasn't just because everyone at the event was rocking natural hair and using organic products.  It was mainly because of the ambiance that was created by a group of women that got together with no drama to uplift one another.  I truly enjoyed myself and look forward to future meetings of that sort.  Check out one of my favorite hairstyles from the event...

  • I had a similar experience this past weekend at Thelma's Vanity Vintage Trunk Show.  This event was fabulous in every sense of the word. Yes it was, YES it WAS "organic".  Michela (the owner) and her team were so pleasant and definitely had some precious gems for sale.  I landed me a pair of fly glasses and a beautiful cream ankle length cape.  The TVV team, the fellow bloggers and attendees were all funky fresh!  I look forward to doing business with Michela in the future.  Check me out in my new digs...

  • Last, but definitely NOT least
(drum roll please)...Thanks to Beny Blaq Entertainment, I was able to see one of my favorite artists Common at The Park on Friday night.  Let me tell you, this is probably the 7th or 8th time (I've lost count), I've seen him and he never disappoints.  There is nothing common about Common's lyrics.  This guy epitomizes "organic" from his beautiful smile to the effortless flow of poetic words that come from his mouth.   I have been a fan of Common since he was called Common Sense, back when he was rocking crocheted pants with the hat to match.  I'm a loyal fan whose feelings are consistently reciprocated through real lyrics about real life.  I love the fact that he has remained true to his conscious style and still manages to evolve as an artist.  He performed several songs from his upcoming album The Dreamer/The Believer which I think will be one of his best albums yet.  I wish him the best in all his future endeavors as he grows in his career.  Can you tell that this event topped off my "organic" voyage???

So I will wrap this up by saying, yes, it is advantageous to eat organic foods, but I find it even healthier to put yourself in situations where there can be an exchange of "organic" energy.

Well, there you go!  You've been stamped!!!  Now pass on the love!
